Commercial Lighting Tax Deduction

Dear LightingTaxDeduction.org,

Do churches qualify for this tax deduction?

Answer: No. While religious buildings are covered by Standard 90.1-2001 and the owner does not pay taxes, they are not public buildings, and therefore do not qualify for the Commercial Buildings Deduction. Other tax exempt non-government institutions would be in the same situation.
